Oldham midfielder Gary McDonald insists his side are capable of claiming a place in the League One play-offs.The Latics thrashed Yeovil 3-0 at home on Saturday to enhance their promotion credentials ahead of the vital run-in.

McDonald opened the scoring against the Glovers with his fifth goal of the season and third in five games.

He said: "We have not given our fans much to shout about at our place and we have let them down at times.

"But we are putting together a little run and there is always one team who makes a late break for the play-offs - we must make sure it is us."
