Ostlund worry for Pilgrims clash

Mon 18 Feb, 08:00 PM

Alex Ostlund is a major doubt for Southampton as they host Plymouth at St Mary's on Tuesday evening. The 29-year-old Swedish full-back is suffering with a slight thigh strain but Wayne Thomas has been declared fit following the Achilles problem that kept him on the bench during Saturday's FA cup tie at Bristol Rovers.

Frenchman Gregory Vignal is now back in training following a broken arm but is not expected to feature while Chris Makin (hip), Claus Lundekvam (ankle) and Nathan Dyer (ankle) are all still long-term casualties.

Jhon Viafara should continue to feature in midfield as Saints captain Youssef Safri serves out the third of his four-match suspension.

Back-up goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is still out with a bruised thumb which is likely to result in the recall of 22-year-old Michael Poke who has been out on loan at Torquay.
