West Ham striker Bobby Zamora is closing in on a first-team return, according to head physio George Cooper.Zamora played 90 minutes of the reserves' 4-1 win against Birmingham last week - his first since August 28 - after struggling with a knee injury.

Cooper told the club's official website: "He is as strong as an ox now. His legs are really good and he is in good nick.

"Bobby is always in early, has been working very hard and been very patient. It looks to have paid off. His running fitness is as good as anybody's at the club, if not better."
