He told the club's official website: "We've got a good manger who knows better than anyone - he has won six promotions - that to stand any chance of going up we need to get back to basics.
"That's what he's told the lads in the dressing room. He has told us what he expects and doesn't expect so we have to do our own jobs, work hard for each other and he will take any sort of blame that comes his way."
City captain Louis Carey misses out after failing to recover from a foot injury.Carey missed the slender 1-0 win over Scunthorpe in midweek and has not recovered sufficiently to be considered.

Palace are only one of three teams who are able to take six points from City before the end of the campaign.
Johnson told the club's official website: "When you look at the results week in, week out, it's good to know that nobody yet has taken six points from us.
"We've done the double over a few teams with a few still to play. We'd like to go through the season knowing that no team has beaten us twice."
