Coventry chairman Ray Ranson has revealed he is close to appointing a new manager, expected to be Chris Coleman.
Iain Dowie and members of his backroom staff were relieved of their duties last Monday, with Frankie Bunn placed in temporary charge for the 5-0 defeat at the hands of West Brom in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
But Ranson said: "We're moving in on things. We've been doing a lot of work and have taken our time but I'm very confident of filling the management chair in the next 48 hours - maybe tomorrow, with a bit of luck."
Coleman was sacked by Fulham last spring, and recently left Spanish second division side Real Sociedad after just half a season at the club.
Premier League Wigan turned down Coventry's request to speak to their assistant manager Eric Black last week.
