African Cup of Nations - CAS reject Togo request for urgent hearing

Togo's request for an urgent hearing into its appeal against a ban from the next two Nations Cup tournaments has been rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Football 2010 Africa Cup Togo - 0

The Togolese federation had asked CAS to make a provisional ruling before Saturday's draw for the 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers.

But CAS said in a statement that, as the matches would not start until September, there would be time to include Togo if the eventual decision went in favour of the West African team.

Togo was banned by the Confederation of African Football for withdrawing from last month's tournament in Angola after two members of their delegation and the team bus driver died in an ambush in the province of Cabinda.

  1. Africa, OOO Africa. what is the problem with u guys? when will u stop killing each others? I thing it is time for u guys to get out of the jungo and be civilize. This is the era of technologies not bloodshared, of advancment not back to the primitive ways, of leadership not detatership; oo Africa where are u heading? Will there ever be a future in Africa for its youths? Will there ever be a time for your people to think on coming back home? I guess it would have been better if the White man still ruled your land, your people, take away your resources and build their countries instill. Wake--up, big dunny mama Africa.

  2. Cas is right in judging them that way bc of prevailing rules already which forbids teams from withdrawal. They acted in accordance to the rule lined for their act. But cas should be merciful considering the lost two strong able men to that incident. Please cas there should be little adjustment to that rule and before you convict a team , there is a good need to hear them out.( he that 'll be killed must be heard first) Look into now that its still morning.
