Bristol City's in-form striker Steve Brooker has been recalled from his loan spell at League One outfit Cheltenham Town. The Championship promotion contenders have exercised the 24-hour recall clause in the deal and the in-form striker, who has scored five goals in his last six matches for Cheltenham, could be included in Gary Johnson's squad for the weekend trip to Cardiff.
"The loan has been a good arrangement for everyone concerned," said City boss Gary Johnson. "We are grateful to Cheltenham and they are grateful to us. Steve is grateful to Cheltenham and they are grateful to him.
"Steve has put his injuries behind him and is clearly high in confidence right now. He has every chance of being in the squad for the Cardiff game.
"Steve is a quality player to have on board for the final seven matches, it is like a new signing for us."
Brooker spent just over two months helping Cheltenham in their battle against relegation from League One in a bid to regain fitness following two knee operations.
