Harrison praises disciplinary system

Tue 18 Mar, 06:00 PM

Barnet skipper Lee Harrison believes the Bees have benefited from a pioneering disciplinary system this season.Under the self-imposed rules Harrison is the only Bees player allowed to discuss decisions with the officials during the game, which is a concept which could be brought into football at all levels.

"When we started the season, we had three players sent off in our first few games so we decided something had to change," the Bees skipper told BBC Radio Five Live.

"It wasn't too difficult at first because we went on a 10-game unbeaten run, but if we had been losing games I think it would have been harder.

"When one of us did go to the referee, you had nine or ten lads pulling him back. We just have to get on with what we're doing.

"Obviously the captain has a lot of responsibility and obviously we sat and thought it through [when we started doing it] and you lose wages if you get sent off or booked for dissent so it makes sense."
