Scottish Cup holders Celtic lost 1-0 at home to Aberdeen in Tuesday's quarter-final replay, while St Johnstone joined the Dons in the semis.Darren Mackie's 69th-minute goal against the run of play sent the Hoops crashing out of the competition at Parkhead.
After being under pressure for most of the game, Mackie fired past Artur Boruc from 12 yards out.
The Dons will play Queen of the South in the semi-final on Saturday April 12.
St Mirren were swept aside at Love Street as Scottish Division One side St Johnstone cruised into the last four with a 3-1 victory.
Rocco Quinn (13), Andy Jackson (20) and Peter MacDonald (28) helped themselves to a goal apiece in Tuesday night's replay to secure a comfortable win.
Even an unsuccessful penalty from Paul Sheerin - and a successful one from Billy Mehmet (70) - could not take the gloss off a victory that sets up a meeting with Rangers or Partick Thistle in the next round.
