Mowbray trusts Albion squad stars

Tue 18 Mar, 02:00 PM

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray will keep faith with his fringe players rather than make loan signings to cover for injuries and suspensions. With the deadline for loan deals set for March 27, Mowbray has lost Filipe Teixeira for the rest of the season with cruciate knee ligament damage and Carl Hoefkens, Chris Brunt, Leon Barnett and James Morrison are all currently sidelined.

On-loan striker Luke Moore is suspended for three matches after his red card in the defeat to Leicester and ineligible to play in the FA Cup semi-final against Portsmouth after already featuring in the competition for parent club Aston Villa.

"Hopefully some of the injured players will be back shortly" said Mowbray.

"We need to respect that the players that have been on the fringe are decent players and it means they get an opportunity then fine.

"Just because a player who has played plenty of games is not available doesn't mean you should rush out and bring someone in from another football club."
