Potters boss still seeking striker

Tue 18 Mar, 04:15 PM

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is still hoping to land a forward prior to Saturday's Championship visit of Blackpool.Having missed out on Portsmouth's David Nugent, Pulis is continuing his search to find loan cover for leading scorer Ricardo Fuller, who begins a two-match ban against the Seasiders after picking up his 10th booking of the campaign.

"We are still trying to pursue one or two avenues with Saturday in mind," he told the Sentinel.

"When Ric isn't doing it, we need another threat. We need that player who has the pace to get behind defences like he can."

Pulis brought Wolves frontman Jay Bothroyd on loan in time to make his debut in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Watford but intends to use the 25-year-old sparingly to utilise his talents.

"Jay gives us another option because he has good ability to keep the ball. I also see him as an impact player in terms of his time on the pitch," he added.
