Everton teenager Jack Rodwell has agreed professional terms with the club - and the defender admits he is "really pleased to get it signed".Rodwell, 17, has agreed a two-year contract at Goodison Park - the maximum allowed for a player of his age.
The defender made his first-team bow as a second-half substitute against Sunderland earlier this month.
Rodwell told the club's website: "I'm really pleased to get it signed, I have just been waiting for my 17th birthday.
"It was a really good week, making my debut then signing the contract - and there was my birthday as well!
"I just want to stay around (the first team) as much as I can and play if I am needed.
"Then hopefully I'll have a good pre-season and go from there next season."
