Shefki Kuqi's loan period with Ipswich could already be over after the striker sustained a hamstring injury at the weekend.

The Crystal Palace-owned player moved to Portman Road on a month-long deal but the injury he picked up against Charlton means it is uncertain whether he will play again before his temporary switch finishes.

Club physio Matt Byard told the club's official website: "We will monitor his progress throughout the week.

"We will have more of an idea on when he may be back either at the end of this week or the start of next week."

Town boss Jim Magilton told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I think his hamstring has gone. We'll just have to wait and see.

"If that's it, then that's it, but we'll move on and it will give someone else a chance."

Ipswich are gunning for a promotion this season and currently occupy eighth place in the Championship, two points off the fourth and final playoff place.
