Valencia winger Joaquin has conceded that the best solution to the club's financial woes would be to sell star duo David Villa and David Silva.
Los Che are reported to be £400 million in the red and the players have not been paid for several weeks.
The club have previously resisted the attempts of clubs domestically and in England to buy the Euro 2008-winning Spain duo, but with their wages eating into the spiralling debt they may be forced to leave.
"Perhaps the best thing would be to sell Silva and Villa," the former Real Betis man admitted. "They are two great football players and are symbols for the fans but, also guys who are costing us the most money.
"We are worried about everything that is happening, both with own situations and with the economic hardships of Valencia."
Striker Villa has been targeted by Premier League duo Manchester City and Liverpool, while winger Silva is reportedly not interested in moving to England but is on the radars of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Internazionale.
At least 10 more players are expected to leave the Mestalla in the summer.
The contracts of big-earning duo Fernando Morientes and Manuel Fernandes are expiring, the likes of Curo Torres, Michel Angulo and David Albelda are set to leave, while players on loan at other clubs such as Nikola Zigic (Racing Santander) and Ever Banega (Atletico Madrid) are also expected to make permanent exits.
Joaquin has been tipped with a move back to Betis, although he feels it is too early to start talking about his future.
"We will see what happens in the future but I do not believe it is the right time to speak about a return to Betis," he said.
"Selling Villa and Silva would probably be enough."

sliva should go barcelona and villa to liverpool
i have another solution for valencia..u have toooo many defensive midfielder(marchena, albelda, baraja, albiol, edu, hugo viana,fernandes,miguel)..sell them! n u wont have to sell silva or villa..
silva will be tag 50m and villa 45m..i think real will get villa and barca will buy silva..can u imagine messi n silva on d right and left flank?n can u imagine villa n van nistelrooy work together as strikers? who will win la liga then??
Villa and Silva are spanish players, they said that they don't want to play away from spain. Villa will 99.999% join Barca, because he loves Barca and wants to play with Messi, as everyone else does.
this star player should consider playing in good league such as seria A and La Liga.
I bet theyll go the blues IM A BLUE BOY FOR LIFE
people always forget...man city did the double against man u last season. but who had the last laugh. so, for liverpool to do the double against united, won't deter us having the last laugh again.
LIVERPOOL FOR LIFE!
COPY AND PASTE IF YOU SUPPORT LFC!!!
wezross, Benitez didn't play against Stoke LFC did, they also played against Man U and Chelsea and did the double over both so can't be that bad eh!!!!!!
chelsea are best stuff the rest
Liverpool need a manager capable of beating Stoke first mate... ;)

I like the idea of Torres and Villa at club level and maybe Liverpool would be in with a genuine title shout
