Barcelona defender Dani Alves has insisted he will not be leaving the club this summer despite reports Chelsea are set to make a bid for him at the end of the season.
The Brazil international (pictured left) has been a key figure in Barca's impressive campaign since moving from Sevilla last summer.
His performances have reportedly again caught the attention of Chelsea, who tried to buy him in 2007, and the Blues have been linked with an offer of around 27 million euros.
However, Alves's media representatives released a statement claiming the 25-year-old right-back intends to see out the remainder of his contract at the Camp Nou and denied an article published in the Daily Mirror newspaper in which sources close to the player revealed he wishes to move to London.
"Daniel Alves knows about the interest of the London club today through the article in the... tabloid," the statement added.
"A denial is important in order to not give the wrong impression on this matter."
Alves has a four-year contract at Barca which includes a release clause of 90 million euros.

ALL U CHELSEA HATERS GO F%č§)£!µ;URSELVES AND 4 PETES SAKE GET A LIFE COS CHELSEA IS BIG TIME 4EVA!!!!
geminiztwin2003, I'm sure you're white and you suffer from a virus called SDS (small @#$% syndrome). Tell me does your woman fake it, and has fantasies of Kofi...?
chelsea is a world class club with world class stars...we might have been nowhere 5-7 years ago but you too must admit we're a force to reckon with now.Abramovich ain't pulling no plug,if anyone seems likely to then its the yanks at anfield.Alves can remain wherever he likes...who needs him anyway when we've got bosingwa and an Essien that can play from anywhere including the goal post.
Alves if you come or not it can't stop CFC from moving forward.
sirstevejones16: You sound like you are the result of some sort of mistake yourself mate.....some sort of mutation
eminiztwin2003:
You are really intelligent

Getting heated under that collar of yours now are you....lol
Chelsea is an english team so its realy intersted for any player to play in primerleague but you are talking about leaving barca which every player like to play in ,,the most attractive football in the world now and 3 competitions on the way next to messi iniesta xavi its so hard if any player taste the play in barca to change it later
Chelsea second rate team? Soulfinder u must be joking or u just blind yourself
WHY CHELSEA WANT ALVES WHEN THEY GOT BOSINGWA THERE...RUBBISH GOSSIP
Why would Alves want to join chelsea for? They are a second rate team, too overated. Chelsea was nothing before Mourinho, 4-5 years ago they were bad team. I's not like they are any better team now. Barca are the best team, and the Best players are for Barca. Alves is the best right back, and he would never leave Barca, he is doing great there, plus he teams up with Messi great too. Anyways go shop for someone else, because there is no chance of buying Barca players, they are priceless, not for sale.
Soul Finder: If Chelsea were a second rate establishment, they wouldn't be where they are in the Premiership. Second rate sides usually linguer near the bottom of the table most of the time.
Soul Finder, how many levels do you have in this clever break down of world class footballs clubs? I'm sure you have some very interesting points to make. "How long before Abramovic pulls the plug???", brilliant! Let me guess, your an economics major? Yet again the world of the football fan spawns a hero.
The media is so biased its not even funny. When its a top 4 team like Chelsea the headline is nice - Alves "not interested" in Chelsea. If it were Man City the headline would be "Alves REJECTS Man City".
Seems to me that the better players have finally realised that Chelski are a second rate team which has had it's five minutes of fame. How long before Abramovic pulls the plug???
