Sheffield United forward James Beattie has insisted he is happy at Bramall Lane and any talks of a move away is purely speculation.Beattie joined the Blades from Everton last summer and has scored 21 goals in what has ultimately been a disappointing season for the club.

The 30-year-old told the club's official website: "I am happy here and have been since signing in the summer. I have played under two managers and both have shown me the utmost respect.

"I know there will be plenty of rumours in the summer, but there has been for most of my career. Until Mr McCabe, or the gaffer tell me otherwise I am contracted here for another three years, so it really is just paper talk."

The former England international also revealed his disappointment at not achieving promotion to the Premier League but he believes they are well set to challenge for promotion next year.

He added: "When I came here last summer the aim was to get this club straight back into the Premiership. This hasn't worked out for whatever reason, but our improvements over the last few months show we have the ability to do that next season."
