Dublin snubs Cambridge return

Norwich striker Dion Dublin has turned down the chance to extend his playing career by one more year with his former side Cambridge.The veteran frontman, who will turn 39 next week, announced his decision to retire at the end of the season but United manager Jimmy Quinn revealed that he tried to persuade the former Aston Villa star to play another year for the Blue Square Premier Division side.

"I asked him but he's definitely going to retire at the end of the season." Quinn told the Cambridge website

"I tried to get him on loan to the end of the season but he's got commitments to Norwich and he's totally made his mind up to go into media work."
