Gradel misses out for Cherries

Fri 18 Apr, 03:45 PM

Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond will be without on-loan Leicester midfielder Max Gradel due to family issues for his side's trip to Walsall.Gradel has been forced to return to his native France to deal with a family problem although it is likely that he will return for the Cherries before the end of the season.

"We recognise that's the most important thing for him at this moment in time. He needs to take care of his young siblings and we hope he can resolve matters out there," said Bond.

"I was aware he'd have to go out again before the end of the season and his family has to come first."

Defender Marvin Batley has missed the past two matches with a knee injury, but has made an early recovery and is in contention to feature.

However, midfielder Shaun Cooper (back) and striker Jo Kuffour (ankle) have suffered knocks in training this week and are both doubts, while the Cherries are also without long-term absentees Neil Moss, Gareth Stewart, Russ Perrett and Steven Foley.
