Kightly ready for Wolves return

Fri 18 Apr, 02:15 PM

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is set to be boosted by the return of winger Michael Kightly for the visit of fellow play-off chasers Ipswich. The 22-year-old has been missing since January after undergoing ankle surgery, but played 70 minutes for the reserves against Crewe in midweek.

After coming through that match unscathed, Kightly is set to be included in the squad against Ipswich as Wolves look to close the gap on seventh-placed Crystal Palace.

Striker Stephen Ward (knee) also featured for the second string against Crewe and is close to a comeback but the game at the weekend could come too soon for him.

Midfielder Karl Henry (knee) continues to miss out so Darren Gibson is set to keep his place in his absence.
