Long-serving Bolton midfielder Kevin Nolan says he "is hurting" over the Trotters' plight after coming through the ranks at the Reebok Stadium.But he firmly believes they will retain their Premier League status next season.

Bolton face Middlesbrough on Saturday on the back of last weekend's victory against West Ham, which eased their relegation fears.

Now Nolan wants them to build on that win with only four games to go.

"I am Bolton through and through," said the long-serving midfielder. "It upsets me what is going on and where we are in the table.

"Sometimes it is nice I still live in Liverpool, so I can get away from it.

"I go home and try to relax but it is difficult for me, as my wife will tell you.

"However, there is a lot more belief and more self-confidence among the players following the win against West Ham.

"The lads are all up for the matches that lie ahead as no-one in our dressing room wants to be in the Championship next season.

"We need to stick together and give 100 per cent. There might be a day where you are not playing well but you must be prepared to run and fight for the team.

"Of course there is a lot of pressure on us to perform but I am very confident we can get out of trouble."
