Bury manager Alan Knill has revealed significant progress has been made in the hunt for a new assistant manager at Gigg Lane.Knill has been without a permanent right-hand man since his appointment in February, but looks on course to have the vacancy filled by the start of the new campaign.
"The assistant manager's job is ongoing but the good thing is that I have spoken to three people now and all three of them want to come," he told the club's official website.
"I'm in a bit of a dilemma now because I can't have three assistant managers. It's just a case now of narrowing it down.
"All three of them are really decent, they have the same work ethic that I have. They know this league which is the most important for me and they know what it takes to make players better.
"It's taken some time but hopefully we can do that (appoint) now."
