Ramos ponders Forlan move - Report

Sun 18 May, 03:15 PM

Tottenham coach Juande Ramos is being linked with a shock move to bring Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan back to the Premier League. The former Manchester United frontman, who scored 10 goals in 63 league starts for the Old Trafford club, has reportedly been sounded out by Spurs' Uruguayan assistant coach Gus Poyet about joining his fellow countryman at White Hart Lane next season.

Tottenham are preparing for life without Dimitar Berbatov, with the Bulgarian hitman set to quit the club this summer, and Forlan is one of a number of forwards linked with a move to the north London outfit according to The People.

However with Atletico expected to demand around £20million for the former Villarreal star, Spurs are more likely to turn their attention elsewhere as they look to bounce back from a disappointing league campaign in which they finished 11th.
