City Duo Happy To Stay

Sun 18 May, 01:09 PM

Manchester City duo Martin Petrov and Elano have rejected reports linking them with moves away from Eastlands.

The midfield duo were thought to be unsettled at City because of the ongoing uncertainty regarding Sven Goran Eriksson's position as manager.

But both have pledged their future to the club, with Petrov already looking forward to next season and Elano "very happy".

Bulgaria international Petrov told the club's official website: "I feel part of the club, we have some very good players here, a lot of international players that make us a very good football team and I think next season we'll be much better.

"That has to be our ambition, we'll need more points than this year to finish higher. We have to look at finishing around fifth or sixth."

Brazilian ace Elano told the News of the World: "I am very happy at this club and my family are enjoying life here too.

"When my mother came to visit, she did not want to go back!"
