Nasri: Wenger going nowhere

Mon 18 May, 03:30 PM

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri maintains there is "no question" of manager Arsene Wenger leaving his "project" at the Emirates Stadium anytime soon.

The future of the Gunners boss, contracted until 2011, has been called into question following comments made to a French television station that the prospect of linking up with Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez would be "interesting for any coach".

Despite all of the speculation, Nasri, the 21-year-old signed from Marseille last summer, is adamant Wenger is going nowhere.

"There is no question of him leaving," Nasri said in an interview with French website www.sport365.fr.

"I know that he still has a project for two years and he is counting on allowing Arsenal to rediscover its glorious past."

Nasri added: "I am lucky to be managed by someone who trusts me and everything is good with my team-mates, who are top players."

  3. The truth is Arsene needs a fresh challenge. neither arsene or arsenal can carry on with this m25 philosphy. you cannot bring a player in for peanuts, throw him in the deep end, wait years before he matures and becomes a world class established player and then lose him because the wage structure can not accomodate his wage demands and then start again. someone has been lying to the fans, do we have money yes or no? how much can arsene spend? or has arsene refused to strenghten? wotever the answers the arsenal fans have felt let down and embarrassed this season, if we are to watch youngsters we should pay reserve price admission!
