Tour of Switzerland - World time trial champion Fabian Cancellara is hoping for double success on home roads during the Tour of Switzerland, which begins in Olten on Saturday.
The nine-day stage race starts and finishes with individual time trials and Cancellara is determined to win both while wearing the world champion's rainbow jersey he won in Salzburg last September.
"The opening 3.8-km time trial is a big objective because the winner will also take the race leader's jersey, while the final 33.7-km time trial around Bern is a big personal goal because it's in my home town," Cancellara said.
"Just being able to wear the rainbow jersey in Switzerland is special and winning either or both time trials would be a dream come true."
Cancellara is not a contender for overall victory in the Tour of Switzerland but like many of the other 168 riders in the race, he will use the tough racing in the Swiss mountains as his final build-up for July's Tour de France.
Germany's Andreas Kloeden, Dutchman Thomas Dekker and Cancellara's CSC team mates Frank Schleck and Carlos Sastre, are the favourites for overall success in Switzerland but will be aiming to peak for the Tour de France.
Italians Damiano Cunego and Gilberto Simoni are also contenders but the Tour of Switzerland will be their last major race of the summer after already completing the three-week Giro d'Italia.
The route of the 2007 Tour of Switzerland includes four difficult stages in the mountains. Stage four to Triesenberg-Malbun and stage six to the ski resort of Crans Montana are expected to be the decisive ones because they end with mountain-top finishes.
Saturday's opening 3.8-km time trial around Olten is scheduled to finish at 1540 BST.
