Armstrong pens new Robins deal

Cheltenham have revealed that veteran defender Craig Armstrong has agreed a new 12-month contract at Whaddon Road.The 33-year-old, who rejoined the Robins after leaving Gillingham in January, is the fourth out-of-contract player to accept new terms, joining Andy Gallinagh, Scott Brown and Jerry Gill in committing themselves to the club.

"Craig showed his value to the team with his vast experience and versatility when he came back from Gillingham," assistant boss Bob Bloomer told the club's official website.

"His return to the squad enhanced the squad and played a big part in helping us stay in League One.

"I'm really pleased he has re-signed and hopefully he can have as big an impact next season."
