Fulham are understood to have jumped to the front of the queue to land Croatia defender Josip Simunic.The 30-year-old Hertha Berlin star is angling for a move to the Premier League after his own admission last month.

"I'm looking forward and I hope to go to England," he said. "I don't know where but we will see in a few weeks. There's a very good chance."

Simunic has been in impressive form after featuring in Croatia's first two group games before being rested for their final Group B date with Poland.

Roy Hodgson has already brought in Mark Schwarzer, Zoltan Gera, Andranik Teymourian and David Stockdale to Craven Cottage.
