Barnsley boss Simon Davey has urged Football League chiefs to allow managers to name seven substitutes in Championship matches.Davey has welcomed plans for seven replacements on the bench - only three can be used - in the Carling Cup next season and has called for the league to follow suit.
He told the club's official website: "It's a good idea and will give you the opportunity to have every position and eventuality covered.
"It also gives you the opportunity to include youngsters on the bench to give them experience without the worry of being forced to throw them in.
"You can see how the game goes before deciding whether to give them a taste of the action.
"I would like to see it implemented further and introduced into the league as well."
