Sweden international Christian Wilhelmsson has lashed out at Bolton and manager Gary Megson, branding the Trotters a long ball team.Wilhelmsson was brought to Bolton last summer by Sammy Lee on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Nantes, but when Lee was dismissed from his post at The Reebok, the Nantes winger found himself out of favour as the Trotters languished at the foot of the Premier League.
The 28-year-old was sent back to France by Megson in the January transfer window, when he was immediately loaned out again, to Deportivo la Coruna.
Wilhelmsson is still upset at his lack of opportunities in the Premier League and feels Bolton's physical style of play did not suit him.
He said: "At Bolton we played a style of football that was too heavily based on physical strength.
"That was not right for me.
"Then when the new manager, Gary Megson, came in and got us using the long-ball game even more, I knew it was time for me to leave."
