Spartak Moscow are determined to hang on to Roman Pavlyuchenko, who has been linked with a move to Celtic.
Reports have claimed that SPL champions Celtic are weighing up a £6million bid to sign the striker before the start of the new season.
Pavlyuchenko is currently on Euro 2008 duty with Russia and scored his country's goal in the 4-1 defeat to Spain last week.
He is attracting interest from several teams, but Spartak have outlined their intention to keep the forward at the club.
A Spartak spokesman told the Daily Record: "He is under contract until the summer of 2011.
"We have not received any offer for him, but we understand that there are clubs interested in signing Roman because he is such a good player.
"He has forced his way into the first XI and has been our top scorer, so the coach really does not want to sell him at this moment."
