Bundesliga - Bayern trio to fund Bosingwa fund

Eurosport - Thu, 18 Jun 13:03:00 2009

Bayern Munich are hoping to offload Tim Borowski, Christian Lell and Andreas Ottl this summer to finance a bid for Chelsea full-back Jose Bosingwa.

Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the Portugal defender was one of new coach Louis van Gaal's primary targets and that an approach had already been made.

"We are holding talks, but we still need the approval of Chelsea," Rummenigge told Kicker magazine.

"He is one of the best right full-backs around."

Lell and Ottl both deputised at right-back for Bayern last season after Willy Sagnol was forced to retire from the game due to injury and Massimo Oddo, who spent the season on loan from AC Milan, failed to impress.

Now, Lell and Ottl are set to make way as Rummenigge plans to "sell one or two players" after spending most of the summer in the buying market.

Franck Ribery is not one of the players up for sale, according to Rummenigge, despite club president Franz Beckenbauer hinting in an interview yesterday that the Frenchman could be allowed to leave.

"We all agree, including Franz Beckenbauer, that we will do all we can to keep hold of Franck," he said.

"I am quite relaxed about the Ribery issue because nothing can happen without Bayern.

"Even Van Gaal knows what an exceptional player Ribery is. Franck is one of the best three players in the world and we know what we have in him."

  11. Can't see Chelsea selling one of their better players who gives what Abramovich demands - exciting attacking football.
We should be buying to strenghten and offloading some of the older fringe players.

  13. chelsea will sign zhirkov to replace him if he goes but you would expect £20million for him better he stay and get more firepower up front as to me drogba a unpredictable man headless somtimes and play acts to much sulky like anelka tevez could be good poacher along side drog hopefully if he ancerloti likes joe cole he play him but he have to improve lots to be any where near champions league winner maybe tevez and eto but then starting agian we should have brought torres when he was avialble 2 years ago there are not many players that can come to chelsea in the prem maybe 5 because the rest at chelsea are better than whats around torres rhobinho van persie rooney gerrad

  16. Bosingwa is a very very good player. Not only defending well, he is very good overall throughout the whole season. I dont think Chelsea will sell him unless anything special happens like a very good deal. Maybe a large sum of money or the presence of Ribery may cause bosingwa to leave other than that i think he will stay.

From King Hung, on Thu 18 Jun 2:09PM
  17. let them have bosingwa plus cash for ribery and lahm

  20. The best right full back in the world right now will be placed somewhere if you average dani alves and jose bosingwa. chelsea will be shooting self in the leg if they accept to loose a world class defender in bosingwa
