La Liga - Villa: I've made my decision

Much-coveted Valencia striker David Villa has revealed that he has already made a decision over his future.

Villa, currently with the Spain squad in South Africa for the Confederations Cup, has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, and is almost certain to move on as cash-strapped Valencia are in great need of the cash boost of up to £30 million that the sale would provide.

The striker, who scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Iraq on Wednesday, said when questioned about his future following the match in Bloemfontein: "I have made my decision.

"My agent knows my wishes, and he is now working on that - so I am relaxed. There is no deadline on the subject, and I really do not have any more details as this whole thing is not totally dependent on me."

The goal against Iraq moved Villa above Fernando Hierro up to second in Spain's all-time scoring charts with 30 goals. Real Madrid captain Raul remains the nation's all-time leading marksman with 44 international goals.

He did­ not jump ship for a pot of gold,but stayed with his­ club. And, said over and again that money is not his­ god. Stating a few times that he has more than enough­ money. David Villa will go to where he wants to go and­ he might suprise us all with his choice of club. Give­ the young man for his past loyalty to his club, a club­ that are now is pushing him out the door for much­ needed cash because they are nearly broke.

  8. Hierro 2nd on the scoring chart? Incredible, he was a­ central defender! Of course he was the penalty man, but­ still... I hope to see Raul again with a red jersey, I­ like him a lot, although I admit that right now Torres­ and Villa are far ahead. But he would still be good­ enough to stay on the bench and come in if a match­ starts being odd, or a defense hard to unlock.
