Manager Paul Buckle is relishing a "special" occasion when Torquay mark their return to the Football League with a home game against Chesterfield on August 8.

The Gulls, who beat Cambridge 2-0 in the Blue Square Premier play-off final at Wembley, then travel to Dagenham and Burton, the Conference champions.

Buckle said: "It's always great to start any season at home - and to play our first match back in the Football League at Plainmoor is going to be special.

"There is bound to be a real buzz about the place and we will want to build on what we have started here so at home is the best place to put down that first marker."
