Hull chairman Paul Duffen has denied reports the club are preparing a move for Sunderland duo Dean Whitehead and Paul McShane.
Doubts have been raised over Whitehead's future at the Stadium of Light following the arrival of new manager Steve Bruce, who is likely to want to sign players of his own, including midfielder Lee Cattermole.
Duffen told the Sunderland Echo: "They are not players we are trying to acquire at this point. In the middle of the park we're looking forward to Jimmy Bullard coming back [in September]."
Meanwhile, the Tigers are set to play Aberdeen at the KC Stadium on Sunday August 9 in a benefit game for Dean Windass.
Windass, who has played over 250 games for Hull, is best remembered for scoring the winning goal against Bristol City in the 2008 play-off final that saw Phil Brown's men promoted to the Premier League.
