Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has confirmed he has made an enquiry about Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson.
The former Ibrox boss had Ferguson as his skipper during his time in Govan and remains an admirer. But the Birmingham boss, who will look to add to his squad for next season's foray in to the Barclays Premier League, was keen to stress that nothing had been decided yet.
"I haven't made a move for Barry but I have enquired about him," McLeish told the Daily Record. "He is one of a number of players I'm interested in."
He added: "I'm on holiday right now but I'm still working away at some things."
Ferguson, 31, was linked with West Brom before Tony Mowbray left to join Celtic.

A.K. "he looks a wee bit tired now".....fookin understatent that is and how much do you think hes worth?
It would be hard to watch barry go , he has been a great servant for rangers. he looks a wee bit tired now ,maybe from the injuries he has picked up .the extra money would be good to sharpen up the mid field . i am happy with the squad we have if we can hold on to what we have, they are getting better every week .and celtic getting slowly worse.
