Boss tips Jackson for a treble

Fri 18 Jul, 01:30 PM

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is adamant Simeon Jackson will score a hat-trick this season after he netted a treble in the win over Faversham. The Gills thrashed the Kent League side 8-0, with Jackson making an impact after coming on at the break.

Stimson told the club's official website: "Simeon did really well. He was supposed to play the first half but he got lost so that will cost him a few quid in the players' pool with a fine.

"He got on the pitch and everyone could see what he has got. He was very confident, he knows where the goal is and to score three goals in 15 minutes is a good achievement. I'm sure we are going to see a hat-trick this season from Jacko."

Dennis Oli, Andy Pugh, John Nutter, Adam Miller and a late own goal completed the scoring and Stimson added: "The lads' attitudes were spot on. They went out there and did their jobs.

"We scored eight goals and came away with a clean sheet - it was a good evening's work."
