Hammill makes Seasiders switch

Liverpool winger Adam Hammill has signed a new three-year contract at Anfield and then joined Blackpool on a six-month loan deal.The 20-year-old spent last season with Southampton, where he made 28 appearances, and he has now joined up with another Championship club in order to gain more first-team experience.

"We've known for the past few weeks that this is the club I was wanting to join," Hammill told the club's official website.

"There's been a lot of interest, but I met Simon (Grayson) a few weeks back and he comes across as very pleasant - and we decided this was the best club for me.

"He told me about his ambitions and plans for the season and I was in them, and that was enough for me.

"I'm trying to use it as a stepping stone for myself and also to get Blackpool where they want to."

  1. Great signing by Simon Grayson probably best young manager in League considering the shoestring-budget he has to operate on thanks to the tightwads that own the club. Would like to see Simon try and build a relationship with Liverpool our good neighbours down the coast there...they have to loan out a lot of players so might be mutually beneficial arrangement for both clubs as neighbours...any thoughts on that from Seasiders fans out there ?

  3. great news for all seasiders fans that we can attract players from the prem league i.e joe martin who left spurs to join pool now adam hammill lets hope lsrrys hard work gets dividends early and pool push on.....up the pool saco blackpool fc
