Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele is reportedly due to undergo a medical at Ligue 1 side Paris St Germain on Saturday.Makelele has been strongly linked with a move to the Parc des Princes in recent weeks, with PSG coach Paul Le Guen confirming his interest.

Le Guen claimed earlier this month that he had held talks with the former France international and the interest appears to have gathered pace.

The 35-year-old is understood to be travelling to France to have a medical ahead of a proposed return to Ligue 1 football.

The former Real Madrid anchor man has 12 months left on his current contract at Chelsea and has previously suggested he would be keen on an extension.

However, his five-year stint at Stamford Bridge, during which he has made almost 220 appearances, seems to be drawing to a close.
