Massa confident of Ferrari revival

Felipe Massa is confident that Ferrari have corrected the mistakes that saw him and team-mate Kimi Raikkonen concede valuable ground in the world championship battle at Silverstone.

Massa insisted that his season has not been ruined by the frustrating afternoon he endured at the British Grand Prix in the last round as he looks to return to winning ways at Hockenheim this weekend.

Despite five spins in tricky conditions leaving him last of 13 finishers at Silverstone, the Brazilian retains a share of the world championship lead with team-mate Raikkonen and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, who won his home race.

"Everybody can have a bad day, but I had a very bad weekend," he said."It started on Friday with the crash then on Saturday there was the problem with the [qualifying] pit-stop, and then, on Sunday, it was a disastrous race.

"After Silverstone, the team at Maranello worked a lot on many different aspects, such as improving the procedures at the track.

"I won't give you any details, because this is confidential information, but we know that we have to act to ensure that certain mistakes don't happen again.

"We know that we have a good car, very competitive, but we didn't use its full potential at the last race mainly because it was a race under very special conditions [in the wet].

"The [Hockenheim] test results are very encouraging for the upcoming weekend. I like this track, and have had some pretty good races there.

"As I've said before, there's still a long way to go, everything can happen and the championship is wide open."

Massa added that he is not put off his stride by criticism of his driving last time out.

"I'm not worried about the criticism after the British GP. I've had lots before and it has never affected me, because I know what I have to and what I want to do.

"The opinions of people from outside the team don't count for much, especially when they say one day that you're a phenomenon and the next they say you're a failure: I don't let it influence me in either case."

  2. I think that TEAM mistakes ruined the race for Farrari in England. I think things will go a little diferent here in Germany! I see Massa as still one of the top drivers and he is still hungry for wins. Kimi, I think will retire and "Party on Dude". I do not see Alonso going to Farrari because he screwed them over already once on a contract and the Big Red Machine will not just forgive and forget! Sorry Alonso, no ride at Farrari for you! Not now, Not ever!

IF THIS WAS LEWIS HAMILTON!!!! How would you have described him? arrogant, loud, whodoes he think he is bla bla.

I understand Massa though, it's how great competitors think. Go Lewis

  4. I just think Massa is too intense and excitable. Five spins a Silverstone shows me that he should calm down a bit. Kimi on the other hand, seems to not care all that much. He will probubly play out his contract (2009) and retire with his millions and a good bottle of vodka. Hamilton, who seems to be an absolute master in the wet, needs to watch out for Kubica, who will be his biggest threat in the future.

  5. I don't think either Felipe or Kimi are showing the maturity they should have. They are driving to match the experience of their younger rivals. They certainly have the skill (Felipe & Kimi). Kubica seems to have more maturity and equal skill, just not quite the car. Lewis has the skill as well, but.....
