Serie A - Lamps "torn" over Inter move

Eurosport - Fri, 18 Jul 07:31:00 2008

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is torn over whether to ask for a move or see out the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, according to Internazionale president Massimo Moratti who is still keen to sign the England international.

Inter have lodged a bid for Lampard but have so far had no encouragement from Chelsea, who are not willing to negotiate.

"Lampard is a very serious lad and certainly he is torn between having the pleasure of something new or having a sense of duty towards his current club. In the end it is up to him to find a solution," said Moratti.

Meanwhile, Inter have identified alternative transfer targets in case they are unable to bring the England midfielder to the San Siro to renew his partnership with ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

"Lampard is the priority but naturally in cases like this I have been looking around for some time," Moratti told his club's television station.

  5. Arsenal are going to have another "transition" year, may not even make Champions League. They just lost Flamini, Hleb, GIlberto, and maybe that wannabe "great" striker Adebayor. Just wait till they come to the Bridge this year, Chelsea will rock them.

  6. I think its better we cash in now rather than lose him for nothing end of next saeson, especially if his mind is not focused 100% on Chels and he's thinking about Inter. However, as A Chelsea fan i'd hope he stays Lamps is a very important player for us
