Wingers Drew Mitchell and Cameron Shepherd were added to Australia's Tri-Nations squad on Sunday.
Wallabies coach Robbie Deans had originally named a 28-man squad for the Tri-Nations and surprisingly dropped Mitchell after he had appeared in all four of Australia's tests in June.
Deans had said at the time he would add an additional two players before their opening Tri-Nations clash with South Africa in Brisbane on Saturday.
Both Mitchell and Shepherd had trained with the Wallabies in Sydney this week.
Western Force winger Nick Cummins, who was also in the wider training group, will remain with the team but not be part of the official squad, the Wallabies said in a statement.
Cummins will deputise at training for the injured Queensland Reds winger Peter Hynes, who is battling a knee injury.
Deans will name his starting side for the match against the world champion Springboks, who have lost their first two Tri-Nations games in New Zealand, on Tuesday.
