The 35-year-old Voigt, who races for CSC, held the yellow jersey all week, but T-Mobile's Ciolek won his third sprint finish of the week to again hold off the challenge of Milram's Erik Zabel, who had pushed him close on Thursday.

Voigt had all but sealed victory after winning Friday's time trial in Fuerth and the German finished the 1,292.5 km route with a lead of 1:57min from American Levi Leipheimer with a winning time of 30hrs 57 mins and 21 seconds.

Third was Spaniard David Lopez Garcia, who finished 2:10min behind the winner.

"I enjoyed a pretty quiet day today, I was able to appreciate the stage, but the team really worked to control the stage," said Voigt.

"Each victory is wonderful, but it is great to win in Germany again. It was more difficult this time than in 2006, I wasn't so strong and felt under pressure at times."

The 20-year-old sprinter Ciolek did his team proud as the world road under-23 champion picked his third win as he covered the final 143.1km stage into Hanover in a time of 3hr 16min 55 sec.

It was another photo finish for the German as he just proved strong enough to hold off Milram team captain Zabel and Australian Mark Renshaw.
