Alexander lays down law with Green

Mon 18 Aug, 03:15 PM

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander has urged Francis Green to commit his future to the League Two club or risk becoming a bit-part player.Former Lincoln forward Green attracted interest from rival clubs earlier this summer and hoped to earn a move.

However, that interest has since died down and Alexander warned Green he would continue to be overlooked unless he he is fully committed to the Moss Rose outfit.

"The reason he's not in the team is because he thinks someone is waiting to sign him," Alexander told the Manchester Evening News.

"That's not happened, but I can't play people that are not committed to the cause.

"There has been interest in him, but that interest has died down. He's known that for two or three weeks and he's got to knuckle down and get on with it."
