Blackpool striker Ben Burgess has admitted he was happy to take responsibility from the penalty spot in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Norwich. With former penalty-taker Wes Hoolahan having joined the Canaries in the summer, Burgess fired home from 12 yards to give his side their first Championship point of the season.
Midfielder Hoolahan told goalkeeper David Marshall which way to go when Burgess stepped up to take the spot-kick, but to no avail.
Burgess said: "Without Wes in the side there weren't too many people rushing to take the penalty so I decided to take it myself.
"But then their centre-half told me 'Our keeper knows where you are going to put it which didn't help, so in the end I was just glad when it went in."
