Lincoln boss Peter Jackson refused to blame injuries to key duo Frank Sinclair and Stefan Oakes for Saturday's 3-1 home loss to Dagenham. The Imps have slumped to successive defeats in each of the opening three games of the new season and a calf problem sustained just prior to kick-off prevented midfielder Oakes from featuring at the weekend.
Things went from bad to worse for Jackson as defender Sinclair limped out just 25 minutes into his debut, also with a calf injury.
But Jackson insists his side were simply not good enough against the Daggers.
"Unfortunately with Stefan it wasn't the injury had been suffering with all week, he had a calf problem just before the game in the warm-up and pulled out," said Jackson.
"Frank also had a calf problem as well and it's disappointing when two of your main players went down. But I'm not putting that as an excuse or anything, we have to do better."
