Notts County boss Ian McParland insists the best is still to come from his side after an encouraging 0-0 home draw against Darlington.McParland named the same starting line-up that lost on the opening day of the season at Bradford.

He believes County could have taken all three points against Quakers, and he is confident keeping a settled side will ultimately reap rewards.

"We know where we are at and we have a long way to go, but I believe this team can take us there," said McParland.

"The boys that played at Bradford put up a good showing and we should have got something out of the game. Unfortunately we didn't get the win against Darlington.

"I changed it around for the Carling Cup game with Doncaster and rested a couple to keep my main players fit, and it worked."
