Scotland pledges Swansea future

Mon 18 Aug, 02:31 PM

Swansea striker Jason Scotland has vowed to try and emulate his 29-goal return last season after signing a new "long-term" deal at the club. The Trinidad & Tobago international enjoyed a stunning first year in English football following his move from St Johnstone in May 2007 and plundered the goals which helped the Swans secure promotion to the Championship.

Scotland has now pledged his future to the Swans and is determined to continue doing what he does best for Roberto Martinez's men.

"I never expected to do as well as I did last season, simply because it was my first taste of playing in the Football League," said Scotland.

"But I got used to the style and got into my stride early.

"To finish with 29 goals was a dream. It's going to be difficult to match it because the Championship is a higher level, but I'm looking forward to the challenge."
