Wolves rocked by crocked Craddock

Mon 18 Aug, 04:15 PM

Wolves have been dealt a huge blow with the news captain Jody Craddock will be sidelined for around three months with a broken metatarsal. The influential defender, 33, suffered the injury during Saturday's 4-1 Championship victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Molineux and, after undergoing an X-ray on Monday, will now have an operation before starting on the road to recovery.

"Jody's broken his metatarsal and could be out for three months at the outside," manager Mick McCarthy told the club's official website. "He'll have it pinned and then we'll take it from there.

"It's a huge blow to lose Jody because he's one of our most experienced players and has always done really well for me.

"Obviously it's a blow for him as well because it's always most difficult for the player. It's bizarre because there wasn't a bad tackle in the game and yet there are two broken bones.

"Jody's got a broken metatarsal and Richard Hinds for Sheffield Wednesday has got a broken leg."
