Zubeldia signs for Astana

Spaniard Haimar Zubeldia has signed a two-year contract with Astana, the Kazakh-funded team announced.
Zubeldia turned professional in 1998 and had spent his whole career with the Basque Eusktaltel-Euskadi team, finishing three times in the top 10 in the Tour de France.
He was fifth in 2003 and 2007 and eighth in 2006.
The 31-year-old finished 45th in this year's race.
