England's Paul Casey played in Europe's victories at Oakland Hills and The K Club and will be making his third Ryder Cup appearance at Valhalla.
The 31-year-old was one of captain Nick Faldo's two wildcard picks this time round, but unlike countryman Ian Poulter was far from a controversial choice - having earned an impressive four points from his six matches in the biennial event.
Casey made his debut in 2004, beating Chad Campbell and Jim Furyk in the Saturday foursomes paired with David Howell. Despite a loss to good friend Tiger Woods in the singles, Europe triumphed by a record margin in Michigan.
Two years' later Casey played with Sweden's Robert Karllson in the fourballs, halving two matches against Stewart Cink and JJ Henry. He then linked up with Howell again to defeat Cink and Zach Johnson in the foursomes, before beating Jim Furyk in the singles as Europe won at a canter.
Like several of his team-mates, Casey went to Arizona State University in America and now splits his time between the European and US Tours.
A big-hitter, who has been tipped as possible partner for Padraig Harrington in the opening matches, Casey brings welcome experience to Faldo's team.
"I would love to play with Padraig and I think it would be a good pairing," he said. "It would be nice to play with a double Major champion."
